Why Spray cleaning?

In production and maintenance, spray cleaning is characterized by comparatively low investment costs and economic operation. This cleaning method is mainly used for large and flat workpieces and where ultrasound is not possible, e.g. for Teflon-coated parts. The cleaning medium, usually an alkaline cleaner, is sprayed at high pressure through nozzles on the surface to be cleaned. The impurities are dissolved by the chemical action of the medium and washed away by the kinetic energy of the spray jet. To ensure uniform cleaning of all component surfaces, there may be additional movement of the laundry and / or the nozzles. The spray cleaningsystem can be supplemented by ultrasound. This results in very good cleaning results.


Spray cleaning is an effective process in which a liquid cleaning medium is sprayed through nozzles onto the workpieces to be cleaned. By the cleaning medium used (usually alkaline aqueous) contaminants are dissolved or emulsified and removed by the kinetic energy of the spray jet.

The following factors play a decisive role:

  • Amount of liquid and its injection pressure
  • Arrangement of the nozzle systems in the workspace
  • Type and shape of the nozzles
  • Medium temperature
  • Cleaning agent
  • Exposure time
